In Pieces
Like puzzle pieces, these shapes just fall into place and compliment each other. It’s interesting to play with double meanings, both in the title and the painting itself. I often aim for a tension that builds energy, in this case the colours are mostly green but the shapes are competing and fighting for space. Almost like they have broken off from one piece and swapped places. It’s a story you will finish and perhaps keep changing, ‘In Pieces’ will grow on you and can mean a riddle of something broken that is ready to be rebuild. It’s playful and full of texture and layers.
Original abstract art work, acrylic on wood, size 30 x 30 x 4 cm
